Gail Aaroen is Volunteer of the Year

Gail Aaroen is our Volunteer of the Year.  Gail retired from teaching in 2013 and joined the Larson House Garden Committee.  In 2019, she became chair of the committee. As a master gardener, she knows both the Latin and common names of all the plants in the gardens.  She organized the garden committee so that no patch is left untended.  Gail added rain barrels, large planters and worked with the Troop 53 Boy Scouts to make the gardens even more impressive and beautiful.  Gail set up our Facebook page, “McFarland Larson House and Public Gardens,” to promote the Society’s mission through social media. Gail took over the job of renting the Larson House and she has been involved in most of the fundraisers for that house museum.  Gail joined the Board of Directors in 2020 and brought her ideas and enthusiasm to the group.  She enjoys giving tours to the third graders that visit the Museum every year and she has invited various groups for special tours at the Larson House.  Gail’s friendly face is well-known to many McFarland residents.  Come to our annual meeting March 10, 2024, at the Municipal Building from 1 to 3 pm and help us honor Gail.
