Interviews of people raised on farms in the McFarland, Wisconsin, area. The sixteen stories give an insightful look into farm life in the early and mid 1900’s.
Farm Stories, edited by Crystal Lokken in 2007 and Jane Licht in 2021, is a 90-page book of interviews of people raised on farms in the McFarland, Wisconsin, area. The sixteen stories give an insightful look into farm life in the early and mid 1900’s.
Lokken and Wes Licht conducted the interviews using a series of questions and they organized thoughts on paper. By 2020, all the copies were gone and the decision was made by McFarland Historical Society board members to convert the book to digital format. Dale Marsden converted the text, Jane Licht obtained original photographs from those interviewed still living or from their relatives and Judy St.Clair gave the book a final edit. The locations of the farms are indicated on plat maps. Three farms were added that had not been received in time for the first printing.
The book contains many black and white photographs.
