Volunteering at the Larson House Garden

Volunteer at the Larson House Public Garden

Do you love to play in the dirt?

Do you enjoy giving back to your community?

Would you like to learn from experienced gardeners?

If so, McFarland Historical Society has an opportunity for you to volunteer at the gardens surrounding the Larson House Museum at 6003 Exchange Street in McFarland.  Volunteers keep the gardens and grounds beautiful year-round. Thanks to their hard work, the beautiful gardens will be featured in Brava magazine this spring!

We welcome families with kids, couples, or individuals of any age and experience level. Whether you want to volunteer at one annual event or help out on a regular basis, here are just a few ways you can contribute:

  • Take a turn mowing the Larson House Museum (LHM) lawn or shoveling the sidewalks.
  • Enjoy the great outdoors by digging, planting, weeding, or watering the garden.
  • Dig and repot extra garden plants once a year to sell at our annual spring plant sale.

To volunteer, contact Gail Aaroen at 608-332-7089 or gtaaroen@hotmail.com
